It's worth noting that he wore 31 until Piazza arrived, so he'd probably need to get 45 retired instead (which was what he wore after Piazza arrived). Franco did rack up a huge save total (276 from 14 seasons in New York), but he was never really one of the most dominant closers for an extended time. For that reason, I have trouble put him higher on the list than Hernandez, Gooden, or Strawberry.
